FAMILY
HUBBY - more well known as Derek *grin*

Derek is 33 and was born in Auckland on Boxing Day 1965. His father tells everyone who will listen that it's all Derek's fault that he had to have baked beans on toast for his Xmas Dinner that year *grin*
He's done his time as a coach painter - but his real trade, and love (lol) is retail management. He holds a certificate in Retail Management and has managed PSIS stores and been a sales manager for Farmers.
Then he discovered a little shop here in Whangarei that sold collectable trading cards and his love for "Magic - The Gathering" game was born :o) He also started collecting NBA Basketball cards and now has got into Babylon 5 and various other collections too. (Mind you I can't talk - I have my cricket cards - and my Star Trek fact files - but he won't let me put the life size standee of Picard in my bedroom .. LOL
Anyway, he liked the products so much we bought the business .. hahaha... and now he's happily ensconced in his world of cards, comics, models and games - he's a big kid really :o)
Here's a story to amuse you :o) The whole "how we met - got together thing". Basically I picked him up from a sleazy road side cafe .. HAHAHAHA Well no actually he was managing the place and I happened to stop there on my way to Auckland :o) He made me the most perfect hot chocolate I've had so far in my life and we got talking. He promised me a free coffee if I stopped in on my way home to Whangarei (he's from here too but was working in Wellsford at the time). So I called in to collect - I was caffiene deprived (a fairly normal state for me!) and we started chatting again. He asked if he could contact me the next time he was in Whangarei - I said sure and gave him my number (not the smartest thing to do girls!) Sure enough he rang, and we became friends :o) Six months later he asked me out for dinner. The date went well and the next night we met for drinks - later that night he said to me "We should get married one day". I thought he was kidding around and said "One day - not today - but one day " and laughed. Well the next day he rang to say he'd told his parents he was engaged! We were married a year later almost to the day :o) Quick mover that Derek .. LOL
Ah well, that's enough about him - on to the cuter part of my family .. LOL (I must remember not to tell Derek how to get here .. hahaha)
MY BABIES

TENNAYA
This is my eldest, she's 6 and considers herself to be a big grown up school girl :o) Tennaya is the 'grown up' one - she's very motherly and caring and is like a little shepherd with her charges when she's around other children. She has a fabulously quick brain and is doing really well with her reading and writing. She must get her brains from her Dad ! Tennaya loves to colour in and to make things - she's always rearranging the house to make the best possible use of my furniture for a new game she's thought of :o) She has a wonderful imagination (although that can be a nuisance sometimes when it activates itself at 3 am and she climbs into bed with me cause she's had a nightmare !!)
